Administrator guide
Administrator guide
For the person who installs and runs a Juxtaboard server. A project owner never needs this guide: owners work from the user guide and the configuration guide, and the page lists the settings only an administrator can change.
Self-hosted only. This whole guide applies when your organisation runs the installation itself.

|---|---|
Provision a Linux host, run the Docker release bundle, set up HTTPS, sign in as the first administrator, update, and verify | |
Find every environment variable and every System → Config tab setting, with what it needs and how to check it | |
Diagnose a server that will not start, sign in, send email or store files | |
Run more than one app node behind a load balancer, and know what the app needs to be safe on several nodes | |
Roll out an update, take a node out of the pool, restore it, and handle a failed node, database or cache | |
Export traces, metrics and logs to OpenTelemetry or Prometheus, and check that they arrive | |
Back up the database and uploaded files nightly, test a restore, and restore for real |
Read in this order for a first install: install, configuration reference, backups. Add the high-availability pages when you go beyond one node.
